************YOU!
God’s Gang Needs Some Angels and A New Home
In the Greater Grand Boulevard area, for over 20 years, Mother’s Cupboard was open, first supplying nutritious breakfasts for the youth and later supplying food for the entire family through our food pantry service.
We’ve wormed and wiggled our way into the economic system, selling gangs of worms and castings, barrels of fish, providing training and jobs for members of the community.
We’re Planting Dreams, creating spaces that teach our youth the history and skills of our agriculture foundation and recycling waste in a natural manner, while once again, providing an income.
We offered education and escape through the Green / Cheeks Library and our tutoring program.
Through the closing of the Robert Taylor Homes, and CHA reneging on its agreement to relocate God’s Gang to another CHA site, we’re homeless, our fish dead, and many of our books have been destroyed, the rest are in storage. Our staff is scattered. The chicken, geese, ducks, and worms are temporarily housed in Roseland.
We’ve fished for success, but not succeeding in reeling in the financial support we needed, surviving on donations and prayer.
